General Assistance

While our name says “Soil and Water” we do so much more than that!

We’ve received calls about “What’s this bug?”, “What can I do with this wetland?”, “What can I do about all the deer eating my crops?”, “How can I stop my streambank from eroding?”, “Where can I get help to pay for fence and watering systems for my cows?”, and “Should I build a pond here?”.

If you ever have a natural resource related question please call us. If we can’t help you we will make sure we get you to the people who can.

As always we are happy to come to your property to investigate a concern or talk with you about any of our programs.

We are just a phone call, Facebook message or a knock on the door away. Our office is located right on Main Street in St. Clairsville.

Education

While we provide a lot of on-site assistance for landowners we also offer an array of educational programs to the public.

We offer public programs like our Birds and Breakfast birding event, Captina Creek kayak float, Half Acre Homesteading classes, Ohio River Festival and much more! We have several youth based events as well like Camp WILD and Boo at the Bike Trail!

We work with schools, the Ohio Valley Mall, Scout troops, libraries, social clubs, state parks, and other conservation organizations to plan and offer events to the public.

We also publish a quarterly newsletter, post TODAY’S TIDBIT daily on Facebook, and write newspaper articles about all things natural resources.

Have a suggestion for an awesome educational event or curious as to what we could offer your social club? Call and ask for our Education Specialist Sam!
