The Enviroscape Model is designed to demonstrate how activities on land affect water. It can be used to show how water becomes polluted and how to prevent pollution. The model is a hands-on educational tool that turns concept into reality utilizing a model landscape.

The Groundwater model helps children and adults appreciate the amount of time water can spend underground and how water relates to th ewater cycle. They will get the ground water picture and learn about basic groundwater principles.

The Stream Qaulity Monitoring Equipment provides participants an understanding of the importance of macro invertebrates in determining the general water quality of streams.


4th Grade Dairy Education & Farm Safety Tour

Target Audience - 4th Graders

4th Grade students are transported to a local dairy farm to learn about milk production, from cow to cup. Students also learn about home and farm safety, agriculture production and the conservation of our natural resources. Additional demonstrations are available on a rotating basis.


Habitats for Learning

The Habitats for Learning video and How-to book are provided as a statewide initiative to promote environmental education and stewardship. It increases the sound educaitonal use and development of outdoor learning sites at schools and labs.


Project Learning Tree

Project Learning Tree uses the forest as a "Window to the World" to increase students understanding of our complex environment to stimulate critical and creative thinkg. The project assists in the development of critical thinking skills to helpo make informed decisions on environmental issues, and instills confidence and commitment in the participants. Students will learn to take responsible action on behlaf of the environment.


Stream Corridor Restoration

Provides broadly applicable guidance for common elements of the restoration process, but also provides alternatives, and references to alternatives, which may be appropriate for site-specific restoration activities.


Lessons in Economics

Lessons in Economics was developed by the Ohio Farm Bureau to teach middle school children economics through agriculture. The lessons show how agriculture impacts a variety of products and industries.

The Rain Simulator is used to demonstrate the impact of rain on groundwater flow, including soil erosion. A Belmont SWCD staff member will give the presentation to all ages.


Water Cycle Box

The Water Cylce Box is a game where students roll the dice to move their beads, which reprent water. The students get to see how each rain drop goes through the water cycle.


When is a Cookie not Just a Cookie?

When is a cookie not just a cookie? This presentation illustrates how everything in the cookie relates back to or evolved from soil. Students are given a cookie "specimen" that they can dissect and eat. The presentation focuses on the dependency human's have on the soil.
